I am very excited to announce the pre-sale of my first book: Health is Love. I started writing this book as I was healing with the trauma of being treated for a rare form of cervical cancer. My cancer treatment was difficult because it was not as much physical as it was emotional. My cancer was caught on a routine health screening (Pap Smear) and, because of early detection, I did not have to have a large surgery, chemo, or radiation. I am grateful for this but the emotional trauma was enough, I cannot imagine having to experience both at the same time. I did not know what to do or say to help me cope with this trauma for a while so I did not say or do much. I did slow down my busy life and spent a lot of time sitting at home reflecting or running while reflecting. Eventually my reflections turned into writing. I wanted to write about reflecting on one's journey. Who am I? Where am I now? How did I get here? What is important to me? In all of that reflecting it became clear to me that the most important things in my life were all of the things that were based in the healing powers of love. I am a healer of love. I was healed by the love of my husband, family, friends, and myself. I know that love is the key to health and I am grateful to have experienced its healing powers. I am still going through this healing process and I wanted to offer some of my reflections to the world as I know that everyone is healing from something. I invite you to take a journey with me to explore this more through the 14 reflections and meditations offered in this book. I hope that you will join me.

Why a Book ClubI love a good book. I enjoy reading biographies and books written by journalists on a mission for the right story. Interests in these areas are books written by authors with a diverse perspective or telling the narratives of diverse perspectives. I enjoy reading these types of books because it helps to reinforce the idea that though we are diverse in cultures, languages, physical attributes, etc; we experience so much of the same things in our lives. We also can learn a lot from each other so I enjoy a book with a message as well. Archives
