We took a summer hiatus for our book club but this fall we are back! The first book that we will feature is Unwavering Perseverance by Mary Wineberg on 9/19 at 6:30 pm at Novel Coworking. It is a story of the Olympic gold medalist's journey from being a ward of the state to becoming a great track star and the ups and downs of traveling this road. Why a Book ClubI love a good book. I enjoy reading biographies and books written by journalists on a mission for the right story. Interests in these areas are books written by authors with a diverse perspective or telling the narratives of diverse perspectives. I enjoy reading these types of books because it helps to reinforce the idea that though we are diverse in cultures, languages, physical attributes,etc; we experience so much of the same things in our lives. We also can learn a lot from each other so I enjoy a book with a message as well. Archives
